School Transportation

Parents of children who ride school buses are reminded that winter weather in North Dakota can create dangerous situations for those students that are unprepared.

The Rugby Public Schools would like to remind parents that students riding buses should be properly clothed for extreme winter conditions, wearing winter coats, hats, gloves, and proper footwear.

Parents should check with students of all ages before they leave home to board a rural route or activity bus to be sure that they are prepared for extreme weather potential that may exist during this time of the year.

We would also like to remind parents to notify the school or their respective bus driver if their child(ren) will not be riding.

Storm Home

Please notify the office of your child’s/children’s storm home (if you have not already done so).

Calendar Notes

  • RPS Board Meeting:  12/12
  • Christmas Break: 12/22-1/2
  • School Resumes on 1/3/2018

Please write your child’s name on his or her belongings (winter clothes).

Attendance

Good attendance involves coming to school every day and the child being in his/her assigned seat at the start of the school day.

We ask parents to notify the school office if your son/daughter is going to be absent from school (Ely office hours are 7:30a.m.-4:00p.m.).  Our school secretary reviews daily attendance lists and contacts families with children that are absent.  We do this to ensure the safety of each child that is enrolled in our school.  Please be sure to inform the office of updated phone numbers, addresses and emergency contact information.

Students that leave school before dismissal time need to be checked out in the office by a parent or guardian.  Please come into the office and sign the child out indicating the child’s name, reason for leaving, time or departure, and signature.  We have this procedure in place for security purposes.
